Meade LX200-ACF Advanced

Coma-Free Telescopes

Meade LX200

The most widely used research telescope on earth now comes with the most advanced optical system. Meade's LX200-ACF brings Advanced Coma-Free (ACF) optics within reach of aspiring astronomers everywhere. Nearly every observatory reflector in the world uses an aplanatic (coma-free) optical system like the Ritchey-Chrétien (RC), including NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. Now you can own similar optics to what the professionals use. The LX200-ACF includes all the field-proven features of the LX200 including GPS, Primary Mirror Lock, Zero Image-Shift Microfocuser, Oversized Primary Mirror, SmartDriveT, Smart MountT, AutoStar® II and more. Plus, the LX200-ACF comes with observatory-class optics and a Series 5000 26mm 5-Element Plössl eyepiece. The new LX200-ACF. It's the biggest news in astronomy since, well, the LX200.

Meade LX400-ACF

Advanced Coma-Free Telescope with UHTC

Meade RCX400

A traditional Ritchey-Chrétien (RC) is a type of reflector that delivers a coma-free, flat field of view via hyperbolic primary and secondary mirrors. RC telescopes (from a variety of manufacturers) are found in most of the world’s top observatories and NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope. Because the mirrors in these telescopes have always been very expensive to make, few amateur astronomers could enjoy them. Fortunately, Meade engineers developed a radical new Advanced Coma-Free design by combining a hyperbolic secondary mirror with a corrector-lens-and-spherical-primary-mirror combination that performs as one hyperbolic element. This ACF design produces a coma-free, flat field of view that rivals traditional RC telescopes at a fraction of the cost. The design even eliminates diffraction spikes and improves astigmatism, both of which are inherent in the traditional ACF design.

Celestron Advanced Series Computerized Telescopes with GOTO

Celestron C8-SGT Telescope

The Advanced Series family of computerized GoTo and non-computerized telescopes was designed to offer the novice or more advanced user a selection of models with the features and quality that serious amateurs can appreciate. These scopes come on heavy-duty German Equatorial mounts with ultra-sturdy 2" stainless steel legs and center tray for superior rigidity and vibration dampening. The Advanced Series comes in refractor, reflector, Schmidt-Cassegrain and now Maksutov-Cassegrain models. The refractor models range from a 4" to an impressive 6" aperture. For even more light gathering power there are 6", 8" and a NEW 10" Newtonian Reflector. We have added a 5" Maksutov model with our C130-M. There are also 5", 8", 9 1/4" and our NEW 11" Schmidt-Cassegrain optical designs that feature Celestron's precision matched and hand-figured optical systems.

Celestron CGE Series

Telescopes

Celestron CGE

The CGE computerized series is Celestron’s newest line of observatory class Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. Offered in 8", 91/4", 11" and 14" apertures, they all come mounted on the state of the art CGE GoTo German Equatorial mount. The German Equatorial mount has long been the favored choice of astronomy buffs and astrophotographers because of its stability and portability. More stable because the center of gravity is directly over the center of its base, more portable because it can be broken down into smaller component parts for easy storage and transportation. For astrophotography, the German Equatorial mount offers easier balancing, unlimited space at the rear of the telescope tube to mount a camera, and whole sky access. Now you can enjoy all of the NexStar software and database features with the extra stability and portability of a German Equatorial mount.

Meade LXD75 Series Telescopes

Meade LXD75

Schmidt-Newtonians, Achromatic Refractors, Schmidt-Cassegrains, and Newtonian Reflectors on

Stable Meade LXD75 German Equatorial Mount

Sturdy Mount with Heavy-Duty Castings Designed by Meade's engineers and manufactured for high-performance observing and astrophotography.

Shaft & Bearing System The sturdy German Equatorial Mount is accurate and precise. The RA and Dec axes move effortlessly on four high-precision stainless steel ball bearings.

High-Precision Pointing (HPP) For even more precise pointing use the HPP function. HPP puts objects in the center of the field of view which allows you to confirm deep sky objects at the faintest limits of the telescope's capability.

9 Speed Drive Controls From a rapid slew rate of 4.5 Degrees/sec to 1x sidereal- its allcontrolled from the AutoStar Controller.

3-Star Alignment Accurately aligns the telescope's optical and mechanical systems so that more than 30,000 objects precisely enter your eyepiece.

Heavy Duty Tripod Variable-height field tripod with spreader bar brace provides the stablity and vibration damping required for visual observation and astrophotography.
