Imaging of Saturn from the Night of January 13, 2006

The video to the right was created using footage of Saturn that was obtained with my webcam and telescope on 1/13/06. Then a final composite photo was derived by stacking several hundred frames. Note how steady Saturn was during the video portion of it. The seeing was much better than normal that night. Had the seeing been poor, Saturn would have been pulsating in and out of focus on the screen. For more information about webcam astrophotography, be sure to see my tutorial here. I provide basic step by step instructions on producing detailed images of the planets with a webcam and telescope.
